one sixty two is a collection of bar-shaped silicone molds created to accelerate the production of concrete cubes, a central material in the artwork
“look at her,” “she looks as insecure as i am,” (window 3),
and ‘next time will be the best time i see you’ he said, (window 1),
part of my MFA thesis exhibition
The initial concrete cubes were made with paper molds and used as sampling for creating a free-form application of silicone. The easy-release silicone bars come in different sizes and house a different number of holes in each bar, totaling one sixty-two
My studio neighbor, Daniel Stratis, introduced me to this mold creation technique
